Which is the best most effective ab belt? The two most popular are the contour abs and the flex belt, but the big question is which is the best product, and which is the best value for your money?

To help answer these questions, you should do research online before buying your ab belt - two good trusted reviews on ab belts can be found here:

Contour Abs Review

Ab belt review

In general it seems that the flex belt is the more effective and better quality ab toner - have a look at some before and after pictures of people who have used the flexbelt. At the end of the day, its the quality of the ab belt you choose that will make a big difference to the results you see, so its best to go for the one you think is best if you value your health and wellbeing.

The contour abs toning belt infomercials promise a lot, almost like you won’t have to exercise and any fat on your abs will melt away as if by magic - but is it true? Can any EMS ab toning belt actually burn fat and make you slimmer?

The answer is NO!

Any EMS toning belt that promises to make you lose wieght or get slimmer is a scam!

An EMS ab toner WILL help you to build stronger more toned ab muscles, BUT it does require effort on your part to burn excess fat on your body first.

This means exercise, and a good healthy well balanced diet - swap soda’s for mineral water, and fatty fried burgers and fries for salads or grilled/baked meats or fish and vegetables!

Ab belts like the contour abs belt and the flex belt are a great way of toning and building your ab muscles to be more defined and give you ’six pack’ abs, but they will be most effective when used in addition to exercise such as ab crunches, cardio workouts or weight training depending on your goals.

If you already exercise and have low body fat around your abdominal muscles, then you should see results from an ab toning belt from using one for just 30 minutes a day! This is scientifically proven, and has been proven many times in clicnical trials and studies conducted by Flex, the makers of the Flex Belt. Visit the official Flex Belt website for more details.

The Flex Belt also offers a 60 day money back guarantee for example, so you can use it for 2 whole months by which time you will see results, and your abs will be stronger and more toned.

The contour abs belt, by contrast, offers a monthly payment plan to sprread the cost of the belt, but no money back guarantee if you don’t like it or it doesn’t work for you.

So will your ab belt burn fat? To summarise, no it won’t - but it WILL help you build a stronger, more toned mid-section when you use it in addition to eating properly and exercising!

Will the contour abs belt work for you? Maybe, maybe not - before you buy the contour belt, its a good idea to read ab belt reviews and comparisons online to compare the features of the contour abs and the flex belt, the two leading ab toners.

Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS), also known as neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) or electromyostimulation, is the elicitation of muscle contraction using electric impulses. The impulses are generated by a device and delivered through electrodes on the skin in direct proximity to the muscles to be stimulated.

These impulses mimic the action potential coming from the central nervous system, causing the muscles to contract. The electrodes are generally gel pads that adhere to the skin. EMS is both a form of electrotherapy and of muscle training. It is cited by important authors as a good complementary technique for sport training, and there is published research on the results obtained. In the United States, EMS devices such as ab belts are regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

In the 1960’s Soviet sports scientists applied EMS toning devices in the training of elite athletes, claiming rapid 40% strength gains. In the 1970s these studies were shared during conferences with the Western sport establishments. However, results were conflicting, perhaps because the mechanisms in which EMS acted was poorly understood.

More recently, medical physiology research has pinpointed the mechanisms by which electrical stimulation causes adaptation of cells of muscles, blood vessels and nerves, causing muscle development to increase.

EMS devices cause adaptation, i.e. training, of muscle fibers.

Because of the characteristics of skeletal muscle fibers, different types of fibers can be activated to differing degrees by different types of EMS, and the modifications induced depend on the pattern of EMS activity. These patterns, referred to as protocols or programs, will cause a different response from contraction of different fiber types. Some programs will improve fatigue resistance, i.e. endurance, others will increase force production or strength.

EMS devices to train muscles can be a good addition to your exercise routine - two best selling products on the market are the Flex Belt, and the Contour Abs belt. Read more about both in this review of the Contour Abs Belt.
